Clear Day Nurseries supporting Operation Christmas Child

The staff and kids at our Little Gems Nursery in Dundonald have been busy at work preparing shoe boxes filled with gifts for Operation Christmas Child.Little Gems Shoe Box Appeal

This is what Samaritian’s Purse have to say about their Operation Christmas Child scheme:

“Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest children’s Christmas appeal with a heritage of 21 years.

Every year Operation Christmas Child is made possible through the amazing support of thousands of children and adults in the UK and Ireland. Last year alone we had the joy of sending nearly 1.12 million shoeboxes bursting with joy from the UK and several thousand more from Ireland to children living in parts of Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

What’s more, Operation Christmas Child can help your church connect with its community, your schoolchildren connect with other children overseas and your workplace connect with a common cause – a child in need.

Operation Christmas Child works by taking your gift-filled shoebox - packed, wrapped and taken to one of local drop off points – and hand delivering it to a child in need, asking nothing from them in return.

All shoeboxes are given to children in need, with no regard to their background or beliefs. We work with local partners on the ground to ensure that your gift-filled shoebox is delivered with integrity and with respect to the local culture.”

As you can see everyone at Little Gems was only too happy to help out with this charity appeal!

Come to our Parent’s Information Evening in Kids@BT9

On Thursday 13th October at 6:30pm, we are having an information evening at our Kids@BT9 nursery. We have invited Isobel McLean our Early Years Specialist along to speak on the pre-school curriculum, Jessica Douglas our Spanish teacher will give a short talk and our Tiny Talk teacher, Fiona Anderson,  will give you an introduction to Baby Sign. A pack containing Baby Sign materials will be available on the evening.

As we are covering a wide age range we would encourage you to come along, not only for the information, but to get to know each other and have a chat with our friendly staff.

We look forward to seeing you there.
