Clear Day Nurseries are supporting the Family Fun Day at Stormont

An action-packed Bank Holiday Monday awaits families from across Northern Ireland and further afield at a Family Fun Day in the Stormont Estate on Monday 31 May in aid of the BBC’s Children in Need Appeal.

Organised by the Department of Finance and Personnel’s Delivery and Innovation Division, the event will take place from 10am to 6pm.

The event offers a wealth of activities for the young and young at heart with different activities in some 16 clearly identified ” Zones.” Event organiser Ronnie McAleese, said of the day ” When we held our first event in August 2008 – a Teddy Bears’Picnic- we had around 5000 visitors come along to Stormont ; last year around 20,000 turned up for our first Family Fun Day. This year we are praying for better weather and an even bigger crowd.”

This Family Fun Day at Stormont really does have something for everyone to guarantee great family fun. There will be puppet shows, story-telling, penalty kick competitions, dog agility, obedience and heelwork to music displays. There is even the opportunity to meet Pudsey and have your photograph taken with him! And of course bring your favourite bear for the traditional teddy bear competitions.

Other attractions include guided tours of Parliament Buildings, displays by the PSNI ,the NI Fire and Rescue Service, W5 and Exploris Aquarium as well as a display of vintage and modern motorcycles ,bungee trampolining, a climbing tower, and a Sweet Tucker Trial, where children will have to guess the flavoured sweets whilst blindfolded.

There will even be some musical entertainment; the winner and runner–up in this year’s NI Young Musician of Year competition will be playing inside Parliament Buildings while outside – weather permitting – Dundonald Community Concert Band will entertain the crowds.

And the Ni4kids Team will be there again this year helping with the fundraising efforts with some great competitions so make sure you come and say hello.

NB – Vehicle entrance to the Stormont Estate for the public will only be via Stoney Road. All visitors are asked to use the car parks provided and to park responsibly and legally.
